Services · Battery energy storage
Storage that earns its place on the grid.
A battery is only as valuable as the way it is integrated. Belgineer manages BESS projects where power electronics, controls, safety and grid rules meet — standalone or co-located with generation.

Hybrid plant integration
Battery containers arrive as tested products. The project risk is in everything around them: the power conversion system, the control philosophy that decides when to charge and discharge, fire and thermal safety, the connection to an existing plant, and the grid code tests required before commercial operation.
At the Siverek hybrid plant in Şanlıurfa, Belgineer delivered 5 MWe of battery storage alongside 2.5 MWe of solar for Eninde Energy. That experience sits on three decades of substation, protection and control work — the disciplines storage projects depend on.
- 01
Use-case & sizing review
Power and energy ratings checked against the revenue case: firming, arbitrage, frequency response or peak shaving.
- 02
PCS & grid integration
Inverters, transformers and switchgear specified and coordinated with the network connection.
- 03
Control philosophy
EMS and plant controller logic that coordinates storage with PV or wind and with grid instructions.
- 04
Safety & compliance
Fire detection and suppression, thermal management, separation distances and EHS procedures.
- 05
Supply & logistics
Container, PCS and BoP deliveries sequenced with civil works and site readiness.
- 06
Commissioning & grid tests
Functional tests, capacity tests and grid code compliance before commercial operation.
01
Start from the revenue case
Technical choices follow what the battery is meant to earn.
02
Design the controls first
Control logic is agreed before equipment is ordered.
03
Engineer out the hazards
Safety is built into layout and procedures, not added at inspection.
04
Prove it at the meter
Acceptance tests confirm capacity, response time and compliance.

What is a BESS?
A battery energy storage system stores electricity and releases it on demand. It combines battery modules, a power conversion system, an energy management system and safety systems, connected to the grid or to a generating plant.
Why add storage to a solar plant?
Storage shifts solar output into evening peaks, smooths variability, reduces curtailment and can provide grid services — improving the plant’s revenue and its value to the network.
What are the main risks in BESS projects?
Integration and controls, fire and thermal safety, supply chain timing and grid code compliance. Most issues surface at commissioning if they are not designed out early.
Can storage be added to an existing plant?
Often yes, subject to the grid connection agreement, available space and protection design. A technical review establishes what is feasible.
